How to prepare for your braid appointment (checklist)

Coming prepared makes your braid appointment faster, more comfortable and helps your style come out exactly how you imagined. Here's our checklist.

1. Choose your style and send a photo

Save one or two inspiration photos showing the size, length and color you want. If you're between styles, read knotless vs. box braids. You can also send us your photo before booking so we can tell you the time and price.

2. Braiding hair is included (except boho)

Good news: braiding hair is included for our braid styles. The exception is boho braids, which use a different, curly hair for the loose pieces. If you're getting boho braids, ask us when you book which hair to buy and how many packs you'll need.

3. Come with clean, detangled hair

• Wash and deep condition your hair a day or two before, unless your appointment includes a wash.
• Detangle completely and, if possible, blow dry or stretch it.
• Don't use heavy oils or gels on the day of the appointment.

4. Plan your time

Braids can take several hours, depending on the size and length. Eat before you come, bring a phone charger and headphones, and plan your pick-ups so you're not in a rush.

5. Tell us about your scalp and edges

If you have a sensitive scalp, a thin hairline or a recent chemical service, let us know. We can adjust tension and size to protect your hair.

6. Arrive on time

Being on time helps us finish your style without rushing, and keeps the next client's appointment on schedule too.
